I currently have  a competitor VHF radio and second station installed in my vessel (a sportfisher style launch with flybridge and lower helm stations).   The intercom function is useful to communicate with those in the saloon,  however the competitor product has an issue when used as an intercom.The issue is that if the skipper is monitoring say a VHF weather channel at the flybridge then those in the saloon will also hear this thru the second station,  so generally they turn the volume on the second station right down.  The issue then is that if you subsequently go to use the intercom they do not hear you.What would be useful is say a seperate "chime" sound when the intercom is initiated, with the volume of that "chime" being able to set seperately  from the volume of the second station speaker.So the question is  - Does the Ray218E intercom function address the issue outlined above?Thanks Dave See More
